George P Joseph
Founder
George P. Joseph was born on 25/9/1962. His father was a Government schoolteacher. He was educated as an Electronic Engineer, and began his career as a Supervisor in an electronics company. By 1988, he entered into the business by invention of rubber tapping headlights, in the name Sunny Nights and first of its kind in Kerala. The Rubber Board of India approved this product and they initiated to introduce it to the rubber planters through Rubber Producers Society across Kerala and were a great solace for the rubber planters and farmers. After the dovetailing of his brothers into the business, it was quiet tranquil for him to achieve the reifying milestones. In early 1990’s he was into the urge of expanding the business, he gave the breakthrough into the L.P.G. parallel market by setting up a bottling plant in Central Kerala, and thus gave accouchement to ‘Surya Gas.
George P. Joseph with the select group of his team has managed to establish in the face of every kind of difficulty and discouragement in the starting of the company. He passed away on 1st March 1999 in an accident. As an able leader, excellent hard worker, fantastic orator and above all a wonderful human being, he had carved a niche for himself in the history of this group of business.
We owe a lot to this great administrator and visionary for his impeccable will and courage in transforming our business to what it is today. The entire Surya Petroleums fraternity expresses heartfelt grief of his irreparable loss. May his soul rest in peace.
